The  project’s  objectives  are  to  develop  the  young  people  motivation  their  skills  and opportunities in the region of West Latgale which is at risk of social exclusion and poverty, as well  as  to  encourage  NGOs  and  civil  society’s  development,  public  investment  promotion, sustainably improving children and youth social environment in the region.

To achieve the project’s objectives there will be involved 50 participants from the target region, youth  at  risk  of  social  exclusion  and  poverty  and  non-governmental  organizations  representing the interests of young people.
Project  objectives  and  targets  will  be  implemented  in  an  appropriate  package  of  measures  that include the organization of two training and consultations for the project actors, development of young  people’s  creativity  and  enterprise,  and  a  package  of  information  actions  (video  creation and  demonstration,  creation  of  motivating  calendar),  as  well  as  project’s  evaluation  and establishment of working group for the further work on social-risk group of children and young people's support in the region.
The project will increase the motivation and successful integration into social life of the target group  and  it  will  promote  public  awareness  and  understanding  for  the  target  groups  in  the region, as well as performed the region's NGO involvement in the development of a sustainable civil society’s contribution in reduction the economic and social disparities.

• Organisation of:
  • 111 sports, recreational, and health classes to promote healthy lifestyle and health (30 participants — new parents, seniors, children, and young people). The workshop also included the organisation of a Health Day;
  • 57 lessons in the sewing workshop, attended by 15 participants;
  • 59 lessons in the dance and music workshop, attended by 16 participants. Concert for broader audience was organised within the scope of the workshop;
  • 163 lessons in the language workshop (English, German, and Latvian), attended by 46 participants;
  • 109 lessons in the art workshop (glass and silk painting, floristics, weaving, painting), attended by 15 participants;
  • 57 lessons in the cooking workshop, attended by 15 participants;
  • 57 lessons in the woodworking and metalworking workshop, attended by 15 participants;
  • 57 lessons in the computer workshop, attended by 15 participants;
  • 434 lessons in the study workshop, where 40 children and young people could understand the school materials better under the guidance of professional teachers;
  • 57 lessons in the children baby-sitting group for new parents, attended by 15 participants.
• One free-time excursion for children and young people, seniors and young parents (41 participants) has been organised, as well as one excursion to vocational schools, during which three schools in Daugavpils were visited to get to know various professions related to the skills covered during the project (21 children and young people);
• Final presentation on project results (51 participants) was organised;
• The project has contributed to improvement of quality of life for rural inhabitants of Līksna, Kalupe, and Vabole — children, young people, their parents, new families, and seniors — by means of involving project participants in activities that support and promote healthy lifestyle and by helping them learn and improve new work and social skills.
