Objective
Develop social responsible, educated and social active Society:

• Improve quality of life for diabetics (senior, disabled) by educating about diabetic lifestyle
• Educate society of healthy lifestyle, including risk factors of illnesses, early diagnosis and appropriate lifestyle for diabetics
• Involve members into social processes, strengthen capacity of Society („Liepaja Diabetes society‖)

Target group
Direct  target  group  -  children,  youth  and  seniors  –  diabetics  and  their  families,  subjected  to  be social rejected and with poverty risk.

Location: Latvia, Liepaja city and Jurmala city.

Main activities
Activities of project targeted on education of target groups and facilitate early diagnosis, therefore improving quality of life. Activities:

• Education of diabetics, Nordic walking activities;
• 5 day training program for 18 members;
• Information and popularization of healthy lifestyle
• Involvement of members into social processes, strengthen capacity of Society
• Administration and Publicity.

Results
Theoretical and practical education for 80 diabetic patients and their families

1. Trained 18 members by special 5 day program
2. 300 people informed about healthy lifestyle, applied early diagnosis
3. 40 people involved in active lifestyle
4. Strengthened capacity of one active Society.
