Summary of article „DEVELOPMENT OF INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCIES"

Intercultural management containing also difference management as one of the management approaches is one of the greatest challenges of 21st century.
There are many different training methods and approaches aimed at promoting the development of integration of diversity and management competencies, and the choice is based on target auditorium and the result to be reached. They can be divided in two types – culture specific training – it means that training concentrates on a specific culture. Experience and knowledge of a certain culture or culture space is provided. Knowledge of the culture of one's own and one more culture is emphasized, paying special attention to the standards and cultural dimensions of the culture, considering certain strategies of action. Intercultural training – it means – to create appropriate understanding on yourself and your culture (self awareness, cultural awareness), providing knowledge and experience of the significance of culture and influence upon the behavior of yourself and others.
