Activities of social inclusion for children and young people in the Ogre County

Project aims to promote social inclusion for 66 children and young people in Ogre County to
organize classes for improvement of social and digital skills, to provide qualitative free time
using LEGO robotics elements.
Project will be realized in the Ogre County. Task group is children and young people in risk of
social exclusion.
Mani activities:
1) to develop methodology, curriculum and learning materials for innovative service:
qualitative free time together with LEGO.
2) approbation of service during seminars, classes and camps.
3) to improve service taking in account results from approbation.
Results:
1) it is created innovative educational after school service using LEGO robotics elements for
children and young people which have risk of social exclusion.
2) 66 Ogres county children and young people which have risk of social exclusion have
improved quality of live and have strengthen their democratic values.

Project results: The project addressed the problem of the lack of after school activities for children and young people from social risk families.
The aim of the project was to promote social inclusion of 70 children and young people in Ogre County by providing after school activities for the improvement of their social and digital skills. The outcome of the project is an innovative et educational after school service. The service uses LEGO robotics elements in order to favor social inclusion. It also includes developement of methodology, curriculum and learning materials. A free access to all materials has been provided in the project website roboti.aimc.lv. 95 children and young people (instead of the planned 70) tried out this after school service during 3 seminars, 30 classes and 5 camps. 95 children and young people at risk of social exclusion improved their quality of live. Moreover, they have strengthened their democratic values.
The project partner Ogre County Social Service that had previous experience in reducing social exclusion developed the methodology of social inclusion. The project partner also informed the target group about the project and invited children and youth to participate in the activities of the project. The target group was also invited trough announcements in the web site of Ogre County.
